CPGShield Acceptable Use Policy

1. What this covers

This policy applies to everyone who uses CPGShield. Breaking it is a breach of the Terms of Service and may result in suspension or termination.

2. Use the Service for its purpose

CPGShield screens cosmetic label text against published regulatory and retailer requirements. Use it for that.

3. Do not misrepresent what a CPGShield result is

This is the section that matters most to us, and the one most likely to cause harm if ignored.

You may share CPGShield reports with retailers, buyers, counsel, and consultants. When you do:

• Do not represent a CPGShield result as a regulatory approval, certification, clearance, or attestation by any government agency or any retailer. It is none of those things, and we issue none of them.
• Do not present a result as a retailer's decision. Each retailer makes its own determination.
• Do not describe your product as "certified", "approved", or "cleared" by CPGShield. We certify nothing.
• Do not remove or alter the scope, affiliation, or informational notices from a report you pass on. They are what makes the report honest.
• Do not represent that CPGShield is affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any retailer or agency. We are not.

4. Do not abuse the Service

Do not:

• Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as your own.
• Scrape, bulk-extract, or systematically copy the rule base, rule text, or citations.
• Reverse engineer the matching logic, or use outputs to reconstruct the rule base.
• Use the Service to build or train a competing product, including by using its outputs as training data.
• Circumvent credit metering, rate limits, entitlement checks, or authentication.
• Share one account across multiple businesses to avoid per-label credits.
• Submit automated traffic beyond the rate limits we apply.

5. Do not submit content you have no right to submit

Do not upload label text, artwork, or formulation information that you do not own or have permission to use. Do not upload another company's confidential formulation.

Do not upload personal information about individuals. A cosmetic label does not require any, and we do not want it. One exception: the names of your own team members, entered in the Tasks workflow to assign work. That is a feature of the Service and is expected.

6. Do not attack the Service or other users

Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access, probe or test security controls without written permission, interfere with availability, or upload malicious files.

Security research is welcome, but contact support@cpgshield.com first and agree scope in writing.

7. Do not use the Service for unlawful ends

Do not use CPGShield to help market a product that is adulterated or misbranded, or to construct claims that are false or misleading.

8. Reporting and enforcement

Report misuse to support@cpgshield.com.

We may investigate, suspend, or terminate. Where practical we will warn first, except where a warning would cause harm or defeat the purpose of the action. Enforcement of the limits in this policy is a manual support process, not an automated one.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here.
