CPGSHIELD USA
The compliance layer for CPG brands

Scan your label. Fix the violations we find.

CPGShield checks cosmetic label text against cited federal, state, and retailer rules, then rebuilds the label for you. No demo. You run it yourself. Scanning is free.

Coverage

The rulebooks we screen, in one scan

Each finding names the authority behind it, and says so plainly where we do not have one yet.

21 CFR 701 · FPLA · MOCRA

Federal FDA rules

Identity, net quantity, ingredient declaration, warnings, and business name requirements, each with its CFR citation.

CA · WA · NY · MN · CO · HI +

State rules

Ingredient bans, PFAS restrictions, and warning duties across the states we cover, each cited to the codified statute. See the full state list.

PROP 65

California Prop 65

Your ingredient list is screened against the full OEHHA listed-chemical inventory, matched under the names a label actually prints.

RETAILER PROGRAMS

Retailer programs

Amazon, Sephora, Target, Ulta, Walmart, and Whole Foods requirements, with badge programs clearly separated from blocking-sale rules.

CLAIMS ENGINE

Claims risk

Drug claims, structure-function language, and misleading patterns flagged before a regulator or reviewer flags them.

SYNONYM MATCHING

Ingredient hazards

We match ingredients by name, not by exact spelling, so a substance listed under a synonym we know is still caught.

Process

From paste to corrected label copy

01

Paste your label

Product name, net quantity, ingredient list, warnings. Or upload a photo. Scanning is free.

02

Review every finding

Pass or fail per rule, with the exact federal, state, or retailer citation behind each determination. No black box.

03

Apply all fixes

One action rewrites what can be rewritten and flags what you must act on. Export a PDF built for retailer reviewers and attorneys.

Output

Documentation that survives review

A scan is only worth what you can hand to the person asking. CPGShield exports audit-ready reports in the formats reviewers expect.

  • Retailer reviewer report. Findings mapped to the program checklist your buyer works from.
  • Attorney report. Full citation trail per determination, ready for counsel.
  • One credit, one label, forever. Fix, rescan, and re-export that label without paying again.
Pricing

Posted prices. No demo call.

Scope

What CPGShield does not check

A scan tells you what a label says. These are the things a label cannot tell anyone, including us. Where they matter, we flag them for your review rather than guessing.

Trace contaminants
Substances like 1,4-dioxane, asbestos in talc, and heavy-metal or PFAS impurities are almost never declared on a label because they are byproducts, not ingredients. We flag them when a label names them. Only a lab test finds them when it does not.
What is actually in the bottle
An ingredient list is in descending order and almost never prints percentages, so usually there is no concentration for us to check at all. If a percentage is printed on the label, or you enter one yourself, we check it against the limits that carry one. We cannot measure the real formula either way.
Lab testing and formula safety
Safety substantiation, stability, and microbiological testing live in your formulation file. No label carries them and no text scan can stand in for them.
Packaging composition
What your packaging is made of is supplier information. It is not printed on the label, so a label scan cannot reach it.
Whether your claims are true for your product
We check whether a claim is permitted and whether it needs substantiation. We cannot check whether it is accurate for your formula. That is your evidence to hold.
MoCRA operational duties
Facility registration, adverse-event records, and good manufacturing practice are filings and records, not label copy. We check what MoCRA requires the label to SAY, not whether you have done the rest.
Physical artwork, unless you upload a print-ready PDF
Type size, boldness, contrast, and panel placement are properties of the artwork, not of the text. Paste-in text cannot show them. Upload a print-ready PDF and we measure them directly.
Anything outside the United States
US federal, state, and retailer requirements are what we screen. EU rules run only in the opt-in EU mode, and no other market is covered.
