CPGShield resources · Print artwork requirements
A missing statement is usually cheap to fix in an editable file. The same issue can become expensive after the print order because the company is no longer changing one file. It is changing packaging, inventory, schedules and sales materials that depend on that file.
The team may need another copy review, design round, dieline export, proof and internal approval. Rush work can displace other launches.
Unused cartons, labels or containers may need to be replaced. Short replacement runs can have worse unit economics, and the company may pay setup, freight and rush charges again.
Product already filled or packed may need to be quarantined while the company decides whether it can be relabeled, repacked, returned or sold. Each option requires labor and documentation.
A correction can delay photography, listing content, warehouse intake or a retailer submission. Missing a planned launch window delays revenue even when the underlying product is unchanged.
Founders, operations, creative, manufacturers and retailers all spend time resolving the same preventable issue. That attention is harder to price but real.
A pre-print label review can catch supported issues while the response is still “edit the file.” Examples include missing net quantity, incomplete business information, a formula-label mismatch and claim language that may create drug concerns.
